ABOUT

"Vanishing Echoes" by Rhonny Tufino

This painting serves as a vibrant and immersive memorial to species lost to extinction, particularly those whose exotic patterns and striking colors made them more vulnerable. In this swirling vortex of air, water, and earth, each animal comes to life in a dynamic composition that pulses with movement and depth. While visually captivating, this piece invites a closer look—some viewers may not realize that the creatures depicted, though familiar, represent sub-species of animals like the tiger and rhino that no longer exist. Each animal tells a story within a larger narrative of extinction and interconnectedness, reminding us of humanity’s impact. Through reflective, metallic, and translucent materials, the work interacts with light, creating an ever-changing, inter-dimensional experience. This painting serves as both a sobering reminder of humanity's impact and a celebration of the spirits of these lost creatures.
